Brighton College Campus Shuts Down for Urgent Works

Brighton Metropolitan College is closing its Central Brighton (Pelham) campus from Wednesday, March 22, 2023. The shutdown comes as phase two of a major site redevelopment is set to kick off. Urgent emergency maintenance on the campus entrance means normal operations can’t continue until the works are done.

Lessons Move Online Until End of Term

All classes scheduled at Pelham for the rest of the term, ending Friday, March 31, will switch to remote online learning. Staff have been asked to switch to teaching from home by Monday, March 27 wherever possible.

Alternative Locations and Exam Changes Planned

  • The college is arranging alternative sites so students can still access certain facilities.
  • Students will get full details via their course and student tutors, who are ready to help via email.
  • Scheduled exams at Pelham during closure are being rescheduled or moved to other venues.

College Apologises, Promises Easter Return

The college apologises for the disruption and thanks students and staff for their patience. Everyone looks forward to reopening the campus on Monday, April 17, right after the Easter holidays.
