Tragic Tollgate Road Fire Claims Teen Girl’s Life
A deadly blaze ripped through a flat on Tollgate Road, Beckton, yesterday evening, killing schoolgirl Tiffany Regis. The London Fire Brigade confirmed a fatality after the fire broke out around 5.24pm.
Heartbreaking Tributes Flood Social Media
Grief poured in on TikTok and other platforms as friends and local residents mourned Tiffany, describing her as “beautiful inside and out” and “caring and amusing.” One user simply wrote, “Oh no. She was stunning. RIP.”
Chaos at the Scene: Party Reported During Fire
The fire engulfed the residential block while a house party was reportedly underway, although this is yet to be confirmed. Firefighters found Tiffany in a second-floor flat and sadly pronounced her dead at the scene.
The London Ambulance Service rushed five other victims to hospital. A massive response saw six engines and 40 firefighters bring the flames under control by 6.33pm.
Murder Probe Launched After Arrest
Police say the fire was likely started deliberately. A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to kill. Investigations continue as officers remain at the scene this morning amid burnt-out windows and floral tributes.
Eyewitness Describes Harrowing Escape
“There was smoke, then a massive fire, mostly on the balcony,” said Raza Nowsin, 26, manager of the Lidl opposite the block. “I saw people jumping from the top balcony trying to land on a mattress below. Some couldn’t make it and were running everywhere.”
