ITV doubles down on The 1% Club with series three and festive specials
Double the episodes, double the fun
ITV has just announced that The 1% Club is back with a bang! Series three will feature a whopping 16 episodes – double the usual 8 – plus two Christmas specials lined up for 2023 and 2024.
Record-breaking ratings and fan favourite app
The Saturday night quiz is smashing it in its second run. It launched early with 3.7 million viewers and a massive 31% audience share, climbing to 3.9 million by the second episode. The show’s live play-along app has been a huge hit too, topping download charts right from the get-go.
How The 1% Club works
- 100 contestants start each episode.
- Players answer questions only 1% of the country could get right.
- No tricky general knowledge needed – logic and common sense rule here.
- Wrong answer? You’re out and your £1,000 jackpot share goes into the prize pot.
- The prize pot grows as players fall away, with a chance to win up to £100,000.
Hosts and execs weigh in
Host Lee quipped: “Once again I am delighted to cause household arguments, as kids mock their parents for being not as bright as them. But us grown-ups can stay out as late as we want, so we get the last laugh.”
Satmohan Panesar, ITV’s Commissioning Editor, said: “Finding a hit in today’s crowded game show scene isn’t easy. But The 1% Club’s unique format and Lee’s brilliant interaction with the audience have hit the mark. We’re thrilled to confirm a third series and two Christmas specials – perfect family entertainment for the festive season.”
Dean Nabarro of Magnum Media added: “For all those still struggling with the 1% question, here’s your chance! Another 16 episodes mean more chances to prove your smarts.”
