Man Charged with Exposure in Roundhay Park Incident in Leeds – UKNIP

A man is set to appear in court today after being charged with exposure in relation to an incident that occurred in Roundhay Park in Leeds earlier this week. Paul Brister, a 44-year-old resident of Kentmere Crescent in Seacroft, has been arrested and charged following a report from a woman regarding an incident on Monday afternoon.

Brister is scheduled to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today, where the charges against him will be presented. Meanwhile, officers from the Leeds District Safeguarding Unit are actively investigating other similar offences that have taken place in the park previously.

In response to concerns raised by residents and park users, particularly women and girls, a proactive operation targeting exposure incidents has been ongoing throughout the year. The operation involves increased patrols by both uniformed and plainclothes officers, as well as the utilisation of tactics such as drones and electric bikes.

The initiative, which is supported by Safer Leeds (the city’s community safety partnership) and the local authority, aims to deter and detect any further offences while ensuring the safety of those visiting the park. The operation will continue to be in effect, maintaining a strong presence to safeguard the park and its visitors.
