A body has been discovered in the search for missing 85-year-old man, Bob Phipps, from South East London. Mr. Phipps was reported missing from Crayford, Bexley, after disappearing on Tuesday, October 24.
Tragically, around 9 pm on Friday, October 27, the body of a man was found in the Dartford Heath area, a few miles away from Crayford over the Kent border. Police have informed Mr. Phipps’ family of this development, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and passing are ongoing.
Mr. Phipps was last seen on Shepherds Lane, running between Dartford and Bexley. Doorbell camera footage shared by Bexley Police showed him with a ‘distinctive stoop,’ messy blond hair, and wearing a dark coat and trousers. Appeals on social media had mentioned that Mr. Phipps had dementia and was not in the best health.
On Thursday, October 26, Kent Fire and Rescue conducted an aerial search using a drone equipped with a thermal image camera over Dartford Heath but initially did not find any signs of him.
