On Friday night, October 27, police discovered a man’s body in Dartford Heath – just miles from where Mr Phipps was last seen. Authorities have informed Mr Phipps’ family and say investigations into what happened are ongoing.
Last Seen with Distinctive Stooped Walk
Mr Phipps was last spotted on Shepherds Lane, between Dartford and Bexley. Doorbell camera footage showed the pensioner with a “distinctive stoop,” messy blond hair, wearing a dark coat and trousers. Social media appeals revealed he suffered from dementia and was in poor health.
High-Tech Search Efforts Before Discovery
On Thursday, October 26, Kent Fire and Rescue launched an aerial drone search using thermal imaging over Dartford Heath. Initially, they found no trace of Mr Phipps, only for the grim discovery to come a day later.
