Witness Appeal Following Burglary in Trowbridge

Police in Melksham are appealing for witnesses after a burglary occurred on February 6, 2024, at a property located in The Spa area.

The incident took place around 1:55 pm when two unidentified men forcibly entered the residence and threatened the occupant, a man in his 70s, with a crowbar. Following the intrusion, the perpetrators absconded with a mobile phone from the premises. They were last seen fleeing along Bath Road in the direction of Melksham Oak School.

Authorities have provided descriptions of the suspects to aid in their identification. The first suspect is described as a male approximately 5 ft 11 inches tall, with a medium to stocky build. He was reportedly wearing a black hat, a yellow long-sleeved reflective jacket, and dark trousers at the time of the incident. The second suspect is described as approximately 5 ft 6 inches tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket.

During the burglary, both suspects were observed wearing face coverings, though these may have been removed as they exited the property.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity during the time of the incident and may have witnessed any suspicious activity to come forward. Additionally, individuals with dashcam footage or those who possess CCTV or doorbell camera recordings that could provide valuable information are encouraged to contact the authorities.
