Brolynn Dangi, 18, of Unwin Road, Hounslow, and Keymarni King, 18, of Cromer Road, SW17, both pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence after appearing in court on October 1. King also admitted to two counts of wounding after he dropped the firearm, causing it to discharge and injure two bystanders.

The incident took place shortly before 5:00 pm on March 1, 2024, on Clapham Common">Clapham Common Southside. Officers on patrol noticed Dangi and King riding a stolen moped and attempted to stop them. Dangi, who was driving, tried to escape by turning the moped around and riding on the pavement, where they collided with a 26-year-old man, injuring him.

Dangi then lost control of the moped, and the pair attempted to flee on foot. During their escape, King dropped a loaded sawn-off shotgun, which discharged, injuring two men aged 27 and 36. The firearm also caused damage to a pub window, where patrons were enjoying their afternoon. All three injured individuals were taken to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police Investigation and Arrests
As Dangi and King fled the scene, they discarded items such as moped helmets and clothing while hopping through gardens. These items were recovered by police, and forensic analysis linked some of the clothing to King. Additionally, forensic analysis of the shotgun found at the scene connected the weapon to Dangi.
The two convinced a driver that they were being pursued by a gang and were given a lift to Acre Lane, SW4, where they were dropped off. King was arrested three days later, while Dangi was located and arrested on March 12. Both were subsequently charged and pleaded guilty in court.
Police Statement
Detective Constable Emily Foo of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said, “The reckless actions of Dangi and King are truly shocking. Knowing they were in possession of a loaded sawn-off shotgun, the pair attempted to flee from police, riding on the pavement before losing control. In their panic to flee, King dropped the firearm, which went off, injuring two people and causing damage to a pub window. The fact that the injuries sustained were not more serious is sheer luck.”
DC Foo continued, “Knowing what had happened, Dangi and King chose to run away, lying to a driver to get away from the scene. Thanks to diligent police work, we managed to track them through CCTV, identify where they had gone, and arrest them.
