A Dartford drug dealer who tried to escape from police while in handcuffs during his arrest has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Leon Jeffers, 26, was jailed after admitting to being involved in the supply of class A drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine.

Detectives began investigating Jeffers in July 2024, identifying him as being in contact with known class A drug users in Dartford via mobile phone. On 9 October 2024, officers attended his home in Eltham, South London, and detained him while executing a search warrant.
During the search, officers seized wraps of heroin and crack cocaine, two mobile phones, and more than £2,400 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug dealing.
While being escorted to a police car, Jeffers attempted to flee despite being handcuffed. Officers quickly restrained him and ensured he remained in custody. He was later charged with multiple drug-related offences.
Sentencing
Jeffers appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, 13 January 2025, where he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine. The court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment.

“Dealers are responsible for wreaking havoc and causing misery in the lives of drug users and in their communities. We will always strive to bring criminals before the courts so that they can be held accountable for their actions and to stamp out supply lines so that drugs are removed from the streets of Kent.
