Car Overturns and Crashes into House in Harrow

A car overturned and crashed into a house on Whitchurch Gardens, Canons Park, Edgware, on the evening of Monday, January 20, 2025.

Emergency Response

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Metropolitan Police responded to the incident shortly after 8:50 pm, with images shared by local residents showing the area cordoned off by police. At least three fire engines from Stanmore and Mill Hill fire stations were dispatched.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said:

“Crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision with an overturned car that collided into a building on Whitchurch Gardens.

“The Brigade’s 999 Control officers received a call at 20:53 and mobilised crews. No one was trapped, and no injuries are reported. Crews made the scene safe. The incident was over by 21:20.”

Investigation Underway

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to the scene and are now investigating. In a statement, a police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 20:50hrs on Monday, 21 January to Whitchurch Lane in Harrow following reports of a collision.

“Officers assisted the London Fire Brigade after a single-vehicle collision into a house. The driver of the vehicle left the scene prior to police arriving. Enquiries remain ongoing.”

Community Concerns

While no injuries were reported, the collision caused significant disruption to the area, with residents expressing concern about road safety.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the driver’s whereabouts to contact the Metropolitan Police on 101, quoting reference number JAN-21-WHITCHURCH. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made through Crimestoppers.
