A 77-year-old man died after a fierce house fire ripped through a semi-detached home on Coulsdon Road, Croydon, in the early hours of Sunday, May 25.

Fire Rips Through Two Floors Near Primary School

The blaze tore through both floors of the property located next to Keston Primary School just before 2am. Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the elderly man from a staircase, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

London Fire Brigade Brings Inferno Under Control

The London Fire Brigade, with crews from Purley, Wallington, and Croydon, battled the flames until finally getting the fire under control by 3:03am. Emergency teams remain at the scene as investigators comb through the wreckage.

Cause Unknown, No Arrests Yet

Police and fire officers in protective gear are working to establish what sparked the deadly blaze. So far, no arrests have been made. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting police on 101, quoting incident 714/25MAY.
