Four arrested after blazing protest halts London film shoot over Israeli actress

Protesters disrupt Westminster film set

Four people were cuffed following a noisy protest targeting a film shooting in Westminster, police confirmed. The disruption unfolded on Wednesday, 28 May, as part of a series of coordinated demonstrations across London. Protesters singled out the film crew solely because an Israeli actress stars in the cast, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Officers were on high alert at the location, aiming to ID suspects linked to earlier incidents and crack down on further offences during Wednesday’s disruption.

Five arrested in total amid harassment claims

In total, five arrests were made. Three suspects were detained on the spot, while two others were picked up over earlier acts of harassment. The charges include harassment and offences under Section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 for unlawfully obstructing access to a workplace.

Why the film set was targeted

The protesters appear to be targeting multiple filming sites in London, aiming to disrupt productions featuring Israeli cast members. Police haven’t named the actress or the film, citing security, but insiders say it’s a major international production currently shooting in central London.

Met Police vow zero tolerance

“We are aware of repeated incidents where individuals have sought to disrupt a lawful workplace solely because of an individual’s nationality. While peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy, behaviour that amounts to harassment or obstruction will not be tolerated.”

Investigation ongoing – witnesses urged to come forward

The Met is reviewing CCTV and body-worn camera footage as detectives hunt for more suspects linked to previous disturbances. Anyone with information or footage is urged to call police on 101 or anonymously contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
