Suspected Medway and Swale Car Thieves Arrested After Series of Ford Fiesta Thefts – UKNIP

Kent Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of vehicle thefts across Medway and Swale, following a spree that targeted multiple Ford Fiestas.

The incidents began between Wednesday, 4 June and Thursday, 5 June 2025, when a Ford Fiesta was reported stolen from Rede Court Road in Rochester. On the same dates, another vehicle of the same make and model was taken from Maidstone Road, with a third Fiesta allegedly stolen at around 11pm on Friday, 6 June.

The thefts continued into the following week, with further reports in Sittingbourne between Monday, 9 June and Tuesday, 10 June. These included:

  • A stolen vehicle from a business in Teynham

  • A theft from a premises in Iwade

  • A personal car reportedly taken from Jubilee Street

Arrests on the A21

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, 12 June, officers conducting patrols stopped a vehicle on the A21 near Orpington. Two men inside the car — the driver and front seat passenger — were detained at the scene.

A search of the vehicle uncovered tools and car parts, and both individuals were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for stealing.

The suspects have been bailed while enquiries continue.

Ongoing Investigation

Kent Police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information about the car thefts in Medway, Swale, or Sittingbourne to come forward.

Witnesses or those with dashcam footage are encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 12JUN/A21.
