Man Charged with Murder After Wembley Stabbing
A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of Shazad Khan in Wembley earlier this week.
Details of the Arrest
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Zaher Zaarour, 26, of North Circular Road, Brent, was charged on Thursday, 21 August with murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 August.
Knife Attack Rocks Wembley
Police were called at 6:10pm on Tuesday, 19 August, following reports of a stabbing in Monks Park, Wembley.
Shazad Khan, 41, was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics but was sadly pronounced dead. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Woman Arrested and Released on Bail
A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. She has since been bailed to return in September as enquiries continue.
Investigation Underway
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “I would like to thank the community for their help and support during this investigation. Residents can expect to see an increase of officers in the local area over the next coming days as the investigation continues.”
Detectives are still piecing together the events surrounding the knife attack as the investigation is ongoing.
