Woman loses her life after collision on the A31 in the New Forest

  A woman has died following a two-car collision on the A31. The 39-year-old woman from Stockbridge was taken to Southampton General Hospital following the collision on the westbound carriageway of the A31 at Bratley Arch, near Stoney Cross, at 3.25pm on Friday, January 8. Sadly the woman died on Saturday, January 9.

The woman has not been formally identified and her next-of-kin are being notified. The coroner has been informed. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The driver of black Mitsubishi Mirage, a 62-year-old woman from Ringwood, was taken to Southampton General Hospital and was later discharged. The 39-year-old woman was the driver of the silver Toyota MR2. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Guard.
