Fire Rips Through Zizzi’s in Camberley – Shopping Centre Evacuated
A blazing fire tore through the Zizzi’s restaurant at the Atrium Shopping Centre in Camberley this Saturday morning, forcing a full evacuation of the shopping centre. Firefighters from Surrey Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze that ignited in the ventilation system and spread to the roof.
Massive Fire Response in Camberley
Multiple fire crews from Camberley, Farnham, Egham and even neighbouring Hampshire joined the battle. Five pumping appliances and an aerial ladder platform were deployed to combat the inferno. Surrey Police swiftly cordoned off the area to keep shoppers safe as emergency services worked flat out. Thankfully, the roof fire has now been extinguished.
Zizzi’s Under Scrutiny After Spy Food Scare
This isn’t the first time Zizzi’s has been in the spotlight. Just last month, the Italian chain was linked to a mysterious illness affecting a former Spy and his daughter at its Salisbury branch during an international probe. Whether there’s any link to the latest blaze remains unknown.

Nearby Pizza Express stepped up, handing out refreshments to firefighters and officers battling the blaze. At this stage, no injuries have been reported.
