Teen Extremist Jailed for Planning Terror Attacks in Rugby
A 17-year-old boy from Rugby with extreme right-wing views has been locked up for terrorism offences. Paul Dunleavy was sentenced to five and a half years in jail on Friday 6 November for collecting terrorism material and plotting attacks.
Right-Wing Radical’s Dark Online Life Uncovered
Dunleavy joined the extreme right group Feuerkrieg Division (FKD) online in July 2019. He bragged about converting blank-firing weapons into deadly firearms and offered to build weapons for others. Police found his phone packed with over 90 documents on explosives, firearms, and military tactics alongside extremist propaganda.
Among the disturbing evidence were eleven videos of real-life terror attacks, including the Christchurch mosque shootings, El Paso Texas massacre, Dayton shooting, and Anders Breivik’s rampage in Norway.
Weapons, Swastikas & Terror Plans Found at Home
Police raids at Dunleavy’s bedroom uncovered knives, air rifles, camouflage face paint, shotgun cartridges, bullet casings, and tools. He also kept a notebook covered in swastikas, notes on lone wolf attacks, and a mock logo for an extreme right terror group he hoped to form.
He declared famed fascists Adolf Hitler and James Mason as his heroes.
Police Warn Public To Stay Vigilant
Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell of West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit said: “This boy had an unhealthy fascination with global terror attacks and knew exactly which online platforms to spread his hateful ideology. He believed he had the skills to turn blank weapons into real guns and was willing to help others.”

Paul Dunleavy’s case highlights the growing online danger from young extremists and the urgent need for vigilance in communities across the UK.
