Scottish Football Fan Hospitalised After Hotel Mayhem and Dangerous Window Jump
A Scottish football fan watching the England vs Scotland clash at Wembley sparked chaos at a swanky West London hotel before leaping from a sixth-floor window, leaving him with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Mayhem at the Corus Hotel
The drama erupted late Friday night at the four-star Corus Hotel on Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park. Police and paramedics were scrambled after hotel staff called for help following the wild incident.
The man, 27, was staying with a friend in a £180-a-night room on the sixth floor. Sources say he’d been drinking for most of the day and trashed the hotel room before the shocking jump.
Police Set Up Crime Scene
Officers found the scene strewn with medical kit, blankets, and even a silver kettle amid the wreckage. The injured fan was given first aid on-site before being rushed to St Mary’s Hospital’s major trauma unit.
The friend sharing the room was forced to find alternative accommodation elsewhere.
Met Police Confirm Arrest
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 9.40pm on Friday, 18 June, to reports of a male throwing items from a hotel window in Lancaster Gate, W2. The man also sustained injuries to his hands. Officers detained a 27-year-old man after he fell from a window. He was arrested on suspicion of affray.”
The investigation and staff interviews continued throughout the evening as the Met police pieced together the shocking events.
