Alex Reid, 50, former cage fighter and Katie Price’s ex, has been rushed to hospital amid fears of a brain bleed. The Big Brother winner shared a worrying health update on Instagram, revealing he’s undergone a CT scan and is now waiting on an MRI after his walking became impaired, with people thinking he’s drunk due to his “punch drunk” appearance.
Fears Over Martial Arts Damage
Alex fears years of blows from martial arts may have caused his condition. He admitted, “I honestly can’t believe how I’ve been walking lately — so ‘punch drunk’ that people keep assuming I’m drunk when I’m out. I’m not.”
He urged younger fighters to take care, saying, “After around 300 fights and years of martial arts training, plus my cauliflower ears to prove it, I want young lads coming up in the sport to train smarter. Wear your headgear. Look after yourselves.”
Thankfully, Alex shared relief that scans showed no tumours so far, though he’s anxious as his father died from a brain tumour at 77.
Health Update from Hospital
While waiting for the MRI, Alex told fans from the hospital, “I’ve been in hospital since 9am this morning. Now we’re waiting to see if there’s any bleed or brain damage explaining the issues with my walking and balance.”
He added, “This is me being honest, raising awareness of what goes on behind closed doors. Combat sports are incredible — but your health is everything.”
Past Feuds and Fallout
The health concerns come shortly after Alex leaked a video of Katie Price counting cash, reigniting their ongoing fallout. The video, apparently filmed in 2020, shows Katie bragging about cash on camera with her daughter Princess Andre present.
A spokesperson for Katie insisted the money did not belong to her and was covered in divorce settlements. Meanwhile, Peter Andre’s camp condemned the video, with a source saying he is “totally disgusted” that his young daughter was involved and that legal action is underway.
