Frightening Antisemitic Assault Caught on Camera
A Jewish building inspector in Slough has been left too scared to wear his kippah in public after a shocking assault by a stranger on a bicycle. The attack happened on a Monday afternoon on Elliman Avenue, Berkshire, and was caught on video — footage that’s now gone viral online. The clip shows a man in a white baseball cap and striped jacket cycling up to the ultra-Orthodox victim and instantly unleashing a barrage of antisemitic abuse. “What are you doing round here, bruv?” he snarls, before launching into vile threats and slurs.
Vicious Hate-Fuelled Attack
The victim, calmly working outside a property, asks, “Am I bothering you? Have I done something to you?” The attacker’s answer is a torrent of hateful language, calling him a “baby killer” and accusing him of crimes linked to Palestine. The attacker then delivers a punch while shouting, “I’ll break your jaw, you dirty motherf****** Jew.”
Victim Forced to Hide His Faith
Rabbi Levi Schapiro, who has spoken with a friend of the victim, revealed the man now lives in fear of a repeat assault. He has started removing his kippah while working outside his community to avoid further attacks.
“He’s hiding. He’s scared. Can you imagine?” Rabbi Schapiro told the Daily Mail.
The rabbi blasted the government’s weak response, dubbing it a “keyboard warrior government” that issues empty statements instead of enforcing the law. “People have to know the culprits will be arrested and actually jailed,” he said. “Even if they are arrested, they’re out in a couple of hours.” Rabbi Schapiro, part of the ultra-Orthodox community in north London, added: “When I leave Stamford Hill I am looking over my shoulder. I can’t hide my identity. I’m Jewish. And why should I hide my identity in Britain in 2026?”
Community Groups Call for Action
The Community Security Trust described the video as “completely shocking” and “utterly abhorrent,” warning that many will recognise the attacker. The Campaign Against Antisemitism slammed the incident as “Jew-hatred without its disguise,” blaming official inaction for creating an unsafe environment for British Jews. Thames Valley Police confirmed they are investigating the brutal attack. Anyone with information should contact them, quoting crime reference number 43260192511.
