Teen Killed in Shocking London Crash – Police Hunt Hit-and-Run Driver
Detectives are scrambling for witnesses after a tragic smash in south-east London claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy. The fatal collision happened on Monday, October 9, on Sevenoaks Way, St Paul’s Cray.
Deadly Crash Caught Authorities Off Guard
Emergency services were called at 3:32pm after reports of a collision involving a moped and an orange Vauxhall Mokka. Despite quick medical response, the teenage rider died at the scene. His grieving family have been informed and are receiving police support.
The Vauxhall’s driver stayed put and was treated for shock. Meanwhile, homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the probe.
Hit-and-Run Mercedes Loots Scene
Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe revealed new details:
“Our initial investigations suggest a red Mercedes struck the moped, forcing the rider into the path of the orange Vauxhall. We recovered the Mercedes nearby but have yet to trace its driver or any passengers.”
Police Plea: Who Saw What?
DI Thorpe urged witnesses to step forward:
“If you were near Sevenoaks Way, especially around the Currys store, at around 3:30pm on Monday, please come forward. Dashcam or mobile footage could be vital. The victim’s family desperately need answers.”
