Two More Arrests Made in Harry Pitman New Year’s Eve Stabbing

Detectives probing the brutal stabbing of Harry Pitman have arrested two more suspects. The teenager was fatally stabbed near Primrose Hill as New Year’s fireworks lit up the sky.

Arrests Shake Up Murder Inquiry

  • On Tuesday 2 December, Met’s Specialist Crime Command nabbed a 15-year-old boy for murder.
  • An 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of affray.
  • Both remain in custody at central London police stations.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, leading the case, revealed Harry was celebrating with friends by the Primrose Hill viewing platform when a shocking altercation broke out.

“Harry had been with a group of friends near the viewing platform on Primrose Hill celebrating New Year’s and watching fireworks. It was here the fatal fight began,” Grogan said.

No Evidence of Racial Motive, Police Confirm

Speculation has swirled online about a racial angle, but DCI Grogan slammed the rumours.

“There is no indication the attack was racially motivated. Despite three arrests, we urge anyone with footage or info to come forward. Your help makes a difference,” said Grogan.

Tragic Death on New Year’s Eve

Harry Pitman, just 16, was stabbed at 11.40pm on Sunday 31 December. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but could not save him. A 16-year-old boy was initially arrested but later bailed pending investigation.

The Met’s specialist detectives remain on the hunt for more evidence. Harry’s family have been informed and are receiving support.

“My thoughts and sympathies are with Harry’s loved ones as they struggle to come to terms with their loss,” said DCI Grogan.

Chief Superintendent Andy Carter, overseeing Camden policing, condemned the senseless tragedy.

“New Year’s Eve celebrations at Primrose Hill should have ended safely. The loss of another young life to knife crime is heartbreaking. We’ve had great cooperation from witnesses. Expect a stronger police presence in the days ahead,” he said.
