Tragedy Strikes at Portsmouth Mutiny Festival: Two Dead After Taking Drugs

Devastation at this year’s Mutiny Festival in Portsmouth as two young festival-goers have died after taking drugs. An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both from West Leigh, were found unconscious on site despite frantic CPR attempts by medics.

Two Festival-Goers Found Unconscious

The pair were discovered at King George V Playing Fields during the festival. Local medics tried to revive them before paramedics rushed them to Queen Alexandra Hospital, where they sadly passed away.

Police Investigate, No Suspicious Circumstances

A police insider revealed: “The deaths are not being treated as suspicious. Investigations are ongoing on behalf of the coroner.”

“Officers continue to work closely with Mutiny organisers, and witnesses and friends at the event are being supported. Next of kin have been informed.”

Official Police Statement

At 7.10pm on Saturday 26 May, police were alerted that an 18-year-old woman fell ill on the festival grounds and was taken to hospital where she later died.

Shortly after, at 7.30pm, a 20-year-old man was found collapsed at the site and also died after being taken to the same hospital.

“The deaths are being treated as separate incidents,” police added. “No suspicious circumstances, but enquiries continue to establish the exact circumstances.”

Authorities are calling on anyone with information to contact police on 101.
