Maida Vale Murder Shock: Mum of Two Stabbed to Death
A 43-year-old mother of two, Wafah Chkaifi, was brutally stabbed to death in west London’s Maida Vale yesterday. Police believe her ex-boyfriend is behind the fatal attack, which has also claimed the life of a 41-year-old man found at the scene.
Horrific Double Death on Busy London Street
Officers and emergency services rushed to Chippenham Road, W9, just after 9am on Monday 24 January following reports of a stabbing. At the scene, they discovered the woman with stab wounds and a man who had been struck by a vehicle. Both were pronounced dead.
Man Arrested as Police Probe Shocking Daylight Murder
A 26-year-old man, the driver of the car involved, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command described the attack as “terrible” and said bystanders bravely tried to stop it.
“It also appears that a number of members of the public bravely tried to intervene to stop the attack,” said DCI Eastwood. “We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are working hard to piece together what happened. They urge anyone with information to come forward, warning against speculation while the investigation continues.
