Shock After Brixton Shooting Leaves Two Men Injured
The brother of one of the men shot in Brixton has spoken out, revealing his shock at the brutal early evening attack in South West London.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said his niece and nephew were just moments away in a shop across the road when the shooting unfolded. “I’m still in shock,” he said.
Terrifying Gunfire Rings Out in Akerman Road
“We really don’t know what this is all about,” the local businessman added. “The police have been here all night and all day.”
“I heard it all – shots fired from a submachine gun. The attackers were hell bent on doing some proper damage,” he said.
Police Respond to Gunshots, Two Men Hospitalised
A Met Police spokesman confirmed officers were called at 6.52pm on Friday, 31 July, after reports of gunshots near Akerman Road, SW9.
Firearms officers arrived to find damage to two parked cars but no victims at the scene. Shortly after, two men self-presented at a South London hospital with gunshot wounds. Their condition remains unknown.
Police continue to investigate with no arrests made so far.
