Shock Stabbing at Regency Park Mosque
Chaos erupted at Regency Park Mosque in NW8 when a far-right attacker stormed in and stabbed the Imam during prayers. The shocking daylight assault happened on Thursday, 20th January at 3.10pm, police reveal.
Imam Hurt but Stable
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Park Road where the Imam, a man in his 70s, was found with a knife wound to the neck. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to a major trauma centre. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.
Suspect Arrested, No Terror Link
The attacker was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody as police launch a full investigation. Despite the nature of the assault, Scotland Yard has confirmed the stabbing is not being treated as terror-related.
