Young Man Airlifted After Horror Crash on A2 Near Gravesend
A man in his 20s has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle smash on the A2 London-bound near Gravesend. The crash happened just before 4:55am on Sunday, sparking a huge emergency response.
Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. The victim was found with severe injuries and airlifted straight to a London hospital for urgent treatment. His next of kin have been informed.
A2 Shuts Down, Chaos on the Roads
The smash brought the A2 to a standstill in both directions for over five hours. Traffic hell followed as motorists faced major delays. The coastbound side reopened around 9:30am, but westbound lanes remain closed with diversions in place.

A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“Kent Police was called just before 4.55am on Sunday 23 March 2025 to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the A2 London-bound near Gravesend. Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, where a man in his 20s was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries. His next of kin have been informed.”
The force is now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact 999 quoting reference 23-0205. Dashcam users are encouraged to check their footage for anything relevant.”
