Tragedy Strikes in Battersea as Car Plunges into River Thames

In the early hours of Thursday, March 28, emergency crews scrambled to Vicarage Walk in Battersea after reports of a car entering the River Thames. Police arrived at around 12:20 am to find a vehicle partially submerged in the water.

Investigation Underway, Victim’s Identity Unconfirmed

The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and HM Coastguard coordinated the response. Authorities have launched an enquiry to confirm the identity of the deceased and are working to notify next of kin. An LAS spokesperson revealed multiple crews were dispatched before most were stood down once the area became a formal crime scene.

Recovery Operation Completed

The vehicle was successfully recovered from the river at approximately 11:20 am the same day. The investigation remains ongoing as police probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
