Mobility Scooter Victim Attacked in Swindon Park

In a shocking late-night attack, a man was assaulted and robbed while on his mobility scooter near Lainesmead Primary School, Swindon.

Man Pushed from Scooter and Kicked

Sometime between 11pm on Wednesday, October 28, and 2am on Thursday, October 29, the victim was knocked off his scooter in the green space between South View Avenue and Eastern Avenue. He was approached from behind by at least two assailants who rifled through his coat pockets before kicking him in the ribs.

Phone and Torch Stolen in Unprovoked Robbery

The attackers made off with the victim’s black Samsung A21S mobile phone and torch. The victim was unable to provide descriptions of his attackers.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“This appears to be an unprovoked attack on a defenceless man. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time,” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson.

“If you were driving near Lainesmead Primary School on Wednesday evening, please check any dash cam footage you have. Even something that seems insignificant can be crucial.”
