ATM Smash Attempt Foiled at Co-op in Woburn Avenue

Just after midnight on Tuesday, March 21, trouble struck the Co-op store on Woburn Avenue. Around 12.45am, thieves smashed the shop front in a brazen attempt to steal the store’s ATM – but they failed.

Thieves Flee in Land Rover, Range Rover Abandoned

The gang, believed to be three or four men, used two vehicles to pull off the daring raid. They left the scene in a Land Rover Discovery. Meanwhile, a black Range Rover was left behind at the shop. Luckily, nothing was taken from the store.

Police Investigate, Seek Witnesses

Officers are combing through the scene and urging anyone who saw anything to come forward. “Were you driving on Woburn Avenue around that time? Maybe you caught something on dash cam? We want to hear from you,” police said.

Residents with CCTV or doorbell camera footage of the vehicles involved are also urged to contact authorities.
