Police Hunt for CCTV Footage After Spate of Car Thefts in Sittingbourne

Residents in Meadow Rise, Kingfisher Close (Iwade), and Newlands Avenue (Sittingbourne) are urged to check their CCTV and doorbell footage from the early hours of Sunday, 31 October 2021.

Sgt Pronger Issues Warning to Locals

Sergeant Daniel Pronger, leading the investigation, said: “I appeal to residents in Iwade and Sittingbourne to review any recordings for suspicious activity on the morning of 31 October.”

He added: “There have been multiple car thefts reported recently. Please be vigilant. Remove all valuables from your vehicle, especially overnight, to avoid becoming a target.”

Man Arrested Over Nine Car Thefts

At 5.10am on Sunday 31 October, officers arrested a man in his 30s near Key Street, Sittingbourne. He is linked to nine counts of theft from vehicles, eight of which occurred in Sittingbourne.
