Hunt on for Muscular White Male Suspect After Two Women Abducted and Raped in London Suburbs
Two Separate Attacks in One Day
Detectives are urgently appealing for information after a chilling double attack on young women in London suburbs on Thursday, April 25. A man abducted two women in their 20s separately—first in Chingford just after midnight, then in Edgware at midday.
Women Fight Back and Escape in Watford
Both victims bravely fought off their attacker during a struggle in Osborn Road, Watford, at around 2.30pm, managing to flee to safety. They are now receiving specialist support as police launch a major investigation.
Suspect Description and Police Appeal
The suspect is described as a muscular white male. The probe is led by the Homicide and Major Crime Command, supported by local and forensic teams. Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said:
“This was a terrifying ordeal for both women who were abducted in separate areas. There’s nothing to suggest they were targeted for a specific reason—they appear to have been chosen at random.”
Chief Inspector Goodwin added that police are urgently following multiple leads, including CCTV and forensic evidence, and working with Hertfordshire officers to trace any local links.
Police Urge Public to Stay Alert
“Stranger attacks like this are extremely rare,” Goodwin said. “But we urge everyone in these areas to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious immediately on 999.”
