Incident Details
Emergency services were called to St James Lane at 8:04 PM on Wednesday, November 27, following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found the woman, aged in her 40s, suffering from stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital, where her injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
The Metropolitan Police arrested a teenage boy at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He remains in custody as investigations continue.

The attack has left residents shocked and saddened. One neighbour said, “She’s a lovely lady, always putting others first. Her work with the church youth club has made such a difference in our community. It’s devastating to think she’s been hurt like this.”
Another resident added, “This area is usually so peaceful. It’s hard to believe something like this could happen here.”
Investigation Underway
Police have cordoned off the crime scene as forensic officers collect evidence. A weapon believed to be connected to the attack has been recovered, and first aid kits and other medical equipment used during the emergency response remain visible at the scene.
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their investigation. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
