Teen Brutally Stabs Girl 60 Times in Shocking Attack
A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced for viciously attacking a teenage girl in July 2021, leaving her fighting for her life with nearly 100 injuries.
Attempted Murder Conviction After Gruesome Assault
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched an intensive investigation after the victim was found stabbed and abandoned in a field near Highsted Road. The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 4 March 2022.
He will serve a minimum of 10 years in prison and will remain on a whole life licence if ever released.
Victim Left for Dead, Found by Dog Walker
- The teenage girl was discovered by a dog walker around 7.30am on 22 July 2021, lying seriously injured for at least seven hours.
- She suffered 60 stab wounds and a total of 99 injuries.
- Emergency crews, including an air ambulance, rushed her to a London hospital where she began her fight for survival.
Clues From Deleted Texts and CCTV Led to Swift Arrest
Detectives identified the suspect quickly. Phone evidence revealed deleted texts showing his disturbing desire to stab the victim, along with internet searches on how police investigate murder cases.
Private CCTV caught the boy heading to meet the girl late on 21 July. The pair met around 11pm, with the girl last seen on camera shortly after midnight on 22 July.
He was charged the very next day and has been held on remand since.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber said: “The brutality inflicted was abhorrent. It is chilling that someone so young could calculate such a sickening attack.
“The victim’s bravery and fighting spirit throughout her recovery have been remarkable. Our officers worked relentlessly to bring the offender to justice within hours.
“I hope prison support addresses the root causes of his dangerousness, preventing any future harm.”
