Career Criminal Chad Goodall Jailed for Over 11 Years After Spate of Burglaries and Dangerous Driving
Chad Goodall, 44, with no fixed address, was slammed with an 11-year-and-six-month jail term at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, 16 July 2024. He admitted multiple charges, including burglary and causing injury by dangerous driving.
Burglaries Across Surrey and Crayford
Goodall confessed to breaking into homes in Nork Way, Surrey, and Heath Road, Crayford, in addition to a key incident in Brasted, Sevenoaks. On 22 December 2023, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, he broke into a Brasted property while the owners were out, stealing designer handbags, watches, jewellery, and a prized Audi E-tron. He sped off in the stolen car before police arrived.
Cat-and-Mouse Chase Ends in Crash and Arrest
Police later tracked the Audi to Wilmington, where Goodall had switched to a second vehicle he’d stolen in an earlier Crayford burglary just 10 days prior. On 25 February, attempting to flee cops on Green Court Road, Crockenhill, Goodall drove on the wrong side of the road and crashed into a motorbike. He fled on foot, leaving both motorbike riders with multiple injuries.
Searches of his car uncovered a “burglary kit” — number plates, gloves, face masks, screwdrivers, and even window punches.
Final Arrest and Tough Sentence
Goodall was finally arrested on 5 March in Peckham High Street, London, caught driving another stolen vehicle, a Toyota CHR. Police found a knife, a hacksaw blade, crowbar, cannabis, and burglary paraphernalia in the car. He was quickly charged with additional offences.
Detective Constable Joanna Slevin said: “Goodall is a repeat offender who showed blatant disregard for the law. To evade capture, he risked innocent lives — resulting in two serious injuries.”
“Burglary is an invasive crime that leaves victims suffering beyond just lost items. Goodall ignored this, caring only about lining his pockets.”
“The judge’s sentence reflects the serious harm he caused and sends a clear message — crime does not pay.”
