Couple Held Victims Captive, Forced Them to Work in Car Wash Slavery Hell
Trapped in a Cycle of Abuse
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has exposed how victims were forced to work for a dodgy car wash, trapped by ruthless traffickers who treated them like possessions. They faced a grim choice: work or be abandoned.
Victims Exploited for Personal Gain
NCA Branch Commander Colin Williams slammed the perpetrators, Tancos and Gomulska, saying:
“Tancos and Gomulska treated their victims as possessions, exploiting their hope of a better life for themselves and their families to keep them in a never-ending cycle of abuse. They were prisoners. The experiences they shared in court showed how mentally broken the couple left them.”
Instead of helping, the pair pocketed victims’ wages and blew the cash on gambling and flashy cars.
International Teamwork Brings Justice
Thanks to crucial help from Slovakian partners, trafficked victims who returned home were traced and able to testify via video link about the horrific treatment dating back to 2008.
“Tackling human trafficking is one of our highest priorities, and we will continue to work with partners to pursue offenders and protect victims,” Williams added.
This case exposes yet another dark corner of human trafficking. Justice is served, but the fight goes on.
