Predator Jailed for Grooming Teen in Sick Relationship Scam
Milen Ivanov targeted a vulnerable young victim between June 1 and August 9, 2022, pretending they were in a relationship to exploit them.
Victim Speaks Out, Police Step In
The abuse came to light after the child bravely told their parents, who contacted Kent Police immediately. Ivanov, from Chaucer Road, was arrested on August 28, 2022, and bailed with strict conditions, including a ban on contacting the victim.
Thug Commits More Crimes While on Bail
Despite police custody, Ivanov went further—sharing indecent images of the victim and making threats. He faced multiple charges: two counts of sexual activity with a child, witness intimidation, creating indecent photos, and disclosing private sexual images.
Hard Time Behind Bars and Long-Term Orders
The 34-year-old was locked up for six years and eight months at maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court on October 26, 2023. He’ll also face a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a five-year restraining order after release.
“Ivanov was fully aware of the victim’s age and preyed on their vulnerabilities for his own sexual gratification,” said PC James Dark.
“When confronted, he tried to intimidate the victim by sharing indecent images and making threats, but these acts were reported. As a result, he got extra charges and a longer sentence.”
