On Thursday, 1 was found with a stab wound on Fountain Lane in Boston, Lincolnshire. The young schoolgirl was reportedly hula hooping with her little sister nearby when the attack happened. Witnesses say a toy pram was left at the scene, adding to the heartbreaking scene.
Suspect in Court, More Hearings Planned
Deividas Skebas, 22, of Thorold Street, Boston, made a brief appearance at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday. He only confirmed his name, date of birth, and address. Skebas is due for a Crown Court hearing later this month as the investigation continues.
Community Mourns with Flowers and Prayer
Dozens of flowers and tributes have been left at the intersection of Fountain Lane and Fountain Place in memory of the schoolgirl. St Botolph’s Church held a special service of reflection and prayer.
“Over the last few days, so many people have come into the church, lighting candles, talking to us, and expressing a wide range of emotions,” said Reverend Jane Robertson. “The service gave the community a chance to pray for the young girl.”
Police Action and Investigation Update
Police confirmed two people arrested on Friday have since been released without further action. The investigation remains ongoing as the community grapples with the tragedy.
