Man Remanded Over London Police Stabbing
A 24-year-old man has been remanded in custody after stabbing two police officers in central London. Mohammed Rahman stands accused of attempting to murder a male officer by stabbing him in the neck and chest in Leicester Square.
Brutal Attack in Leicester Square
The violent incident happened at 6am on Friday, September 16. Rahman allegedly attacked Pc Gerrard, leaving him seriously injured. A female officer, Pc Mulhall, was also stabbed in the arm during the incident.
- Rahman faces charges of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
- Additional charges include robbery, possession of a bladed article, assault, and threatening behaviour with a knife.
Court Appearance and Officer Conditions
At Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, Rahman said only his name, date of birth, and address. He did not enter a plea and was flanked by two officers in the dock, wearing a prison-issued grey sweatshirt.
Pc Mulhall was released from hospital on Saturday. Pc Gerrard remains under medical supervision. Both officers belong to the Met’s Central West Command Unit, responsible for policing Westminster. They were on routine duty and not part of the security operation following the Queen’s passing.

District Judge Simon Heptonstall has remanded Rahman in custody until his next hearing at the Old Bailey on October 14.
