Knife Killer Robbie Munoz Found Guilty of Greenwich Murder

Robbie Munoz, 22, from Wallington, was convicted of murdering 29-year-old Reece Williams at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, 18 April.

Reece was fatally stabbed on Welland Street, Greenwich, on 31 July 2021. Despite desperate attempts by friends and emergency services, he died shortly after the brutal attack.

Violent Attack Erupted From ‘Petty Argument’

Munoz was found near the scene with a stab wound. Police confirmed he sustained his injury during the stabbing of Reece. He was promptly arrested and charged with murder.

Investigators found a 25cm blade knife cover nearby, linked to Munoz through forensic evidence. The murder weapon itself was recovered from a bin shed at a local block of flats.

Munoz claimed self-defence during the trial. Witnesses revealed Reece initially approached Munoz, sparking an argument before punching him. After Reece walked away, Munoz pulled the knife from his rucksack, chased him, and stabbed him multiple times. Friends tried to stop the attack but were powerless to intervene.

Detective Slams Knife Crime, Warns of Jail Time

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood said: “What started as a petty argument ended in murder and now one man faces a long prison sentence. Our hearts go out to Reece’s devastated family and friends.

“Munoz had no hesitation in carrying and using a knife. It took seconds for a life to be taken. Our priority is targeting those carrying weapons and intent on violence.”

“Knife crime fell last year but there’s still work to do. Officers will do everything possible to stop violent crime on our streets.”

Police Urge Public to Come Forward
