Speed Demon Busted Doing 91mph in 30mph Zone!
Marc Lear, 45, was nailed speeding at a whopping 91mph on School Road, which has a strict 30mph limit. The rider was clocked zooming along on his Honda CBR 1000 on July 4th.
Harsh Penalty for Reckless Rider
Lear, from Browning Road, Brantham, pleaded guilty at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on October 21. He was slapped with a 56-day driving ban, fined £120, and hit with £120 court costs plus a £34 victim surcharge.
Road Crime Boss Issues Stark Warning
Matt Hine, Manager of the Road Crime Team, blasted Lear’s “reckless” ride. He said: “Travelling at more than three times the speed limit shows a complete and utter disregard for the rules of the road and safety of others.”
Hine added, “All it would have taken was for Lear to lose control or for someone to step into the road. It could easily have ended in serious injury or worse.”
“We won’t tolerate this kind of dangerous behaviour and will prosecute to keep our roads safe.”
