High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash After Driver Refuses Police Stop
On Thursday 5 January 2023, police spotted an Audi A3 with obvious defects on Sutton Road. When officers tried to pull it over, driver Danny White hit the gas, speeding away at over 70mph.
Dangerous Pursuit Through Residential Streets
White’s reckless chase tore through residential areas. The chaos ended when he crashed into a bus on Stockett Lane while trying to overtake it.
Manhunt Leads to Arrest with Police Helicopter Support
After the collision, White fled into a nearby orchard. Police quickly deployed a helicopter and two units to hunt him down. The 20-year-old from Cottall Avenue, Chatham was soon caught and arrested.
Charged with Dangerous Driving and More
White now faces multiple charges: dangerous driving, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance. He pled guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 7 January and was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court. His next hearing date is still pending.
