72-Year-Old Dies in Crawley Tragedy
Emergency crews rushed to a home on St Botolph’s Road at around 6:30 pm on Friday, March 22. Sadly, they found the body of a 72-year-old local man. His immediate family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist teams.
Man Arrested and Charged with Murder
Sussex Police have arrested 46-year-old Sukhjit Bains of Brighton Road, Southgate, Crawley. He faces murder charges and appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 25. Bains has been remanded in custody, with a hearing scheduled for Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday, March 26.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“Our thoughts continue to be with the family at this extremely difficult time,” said Detective Inspector Amanda Zinyama, the senior investigating officer.
“Sukhjit Bains has been charged with murder. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact Sussex Police and quote Operation Orchid.”
