Brian Royce Jailed for Rape After Victim Speaks Out

Brian Royce, 54, from Dock Road, has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault following a trial. He denied the attacks, which took place between April and May 2018, but the court ruled against him.

Sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court

Royce was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, 20 March 2024. The guilty verdict came after a thorough investigation by kent.police.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police.

Victim’s Brave Revelation Leads to Arrest

The offences were uncovered in June 2018 when the victim bravely confided in a friend. Encouraged to report the crimes, she contacted the police, resulting in Royce’s arrest the same month. Detectives Steve Gibbons and Rachel Ford from Kent Police’s Rape Investigation Team handled the case.
