Charter Flight Evacuates 250 Britons from Pakistan!

First Flight Touches Down in London

Over 250 British nationals took off from Islamabad International Airport today on the first of ten special charter flights bound for London. Stuck in Pakistan due to the Covid-19 flight bans, these Brits are finally heading home.

High Commissioner Praises Efforts

The British High Commissioner, Dr Christian Turner CMG, personally inspected the airport arrangements before departure. He said:

“I’ve reviewed the final arrangements that have been put in place for all the British people going back home to the UK. I am grateful to the Government of Pakistan, Qatar Airways and the Islamabad Airport Authorities for working so hard with my team over the last week to make their journeys as smooth as possible. I wish all those heading back home a safe journey.”

Ten Flights Scheduled to Bring Brits Home

The UK government announced on April 15 a series of ten special charter flights operating from April 21 to April 27. These flights are exclusively for British residents and their dependants stranded in Islamabad and Lahore due to suspended international flights amid the pandemic.
