Police Sergeant Found Guilty of Sexual Assault on Colleague
Police Sergeant Tristan Davis has been found guilty of three counts of sexual assault at Inner 1 Crown Court. His sentencing is set for 18 November.
Escalator Attack Sparks Outrage
On 23 April 2021, PS Davis sexually assaulted a fellow officer on an escalator at London Bridge station. The pair were returning from a night out with colleagues when the attack happened.
Davis didn’t stop there. They boarded the same train, where he assaulted the victim two more times despite her repeated attempts to push him away. She was forced to leave her seat and stand in the aisle to escape his advances.
Victim’s Courage Leads to Justice
The victim reported the incident to the British Transport Police’s Professional Standards Department. Davis was immediately suspended and a criminal investigation launched.
During his police interview, Davis claimed his behaviour was “playful” — a defence swiftly dismissed by authorities.
Chief Constable Condemns ‘Disgraceful’ Conduct
Deputy Chief Constable Alistair Sutherland said: “Tristan Davis does not represent the values of BTP officers.
“Thanks to the victim coming forward, detectives launched a thorough investigation and brought him before the courts.
“This behaviour is not ‘playful’—it is a serious criminal offence and will be treated as such.
“I am acutely aware of how damaging incidents like this are to public confidence in policing. It is appalling that a serving officer could behave this way. We will relentlessly challenge and investigate any officer who breaks the law or fails to meet our high standards.”
A fast-track misconduct hearing will now decide Davis’s future with the force.
