Cop Busted for Blurring Lines with Female Colleague
Police Sergeant Found Guilty of Gross Misconduct
Police Sergeant Lee Juniper, from Central West Command, faced a two-day misconduct hearing starting April 17. The verdict? He breached professional standards on several counts, including authority, respect, honesty, integrity, and discreditable conduct — some at the level of gross misconduct.
Superintendent Slams ‘Inappropriate’ Behaviour
Superintendent Alan Duncan condemned Juniper’s actions, saying, “Former PS Juniper abused his position as the officer’s line manager and failed to follow appropriate policies regarding relationships between colleagues. His behaviour was completely inappropriate and the messages he sent to the female officer thoroughly blurred personal and professional lines. All officers are fully aware of the clear guidance about this at work.”
Barred from Police Work for Good
Juniper will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing. Anyone on this list cannot be employed by police forces, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
