Four Teens and Woman Seriously Injured in Blackpool Crash on Christmas Night
Police are hunting for witnesses and any dashcam footage after a terrifying crash left four teenagers and a woman badly hurt in Blackpool on Christmas Day.
Mercedes Crashes Into Wall After Leaving Road
Officers rushed to Common Edge Road at 10.27pm after reports a Mercedes CLA 220, travelling from St Annes, had smashed through a wall. The car had left the carriageway in a frightening collision.
Teens and Woman Suffer Serious Injuries
The crash seriously injured three boys aged 13, 15, and 17, a 17-year-old girl, and a woman in her 30s. All were rushed to hospital. Thankfully, police say their injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.
Driver Arrested on Dangerous Driving and Drink Charges
A 42-year-old man from St Annes has been arrested over the incident. He faces charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving under the influence, and failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He remains in custody.
Sgt Paul McCurrie, Road Policing Unit: “This collision has left several people with very serious injuries. Thankfully, those injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening at this time.”
“Our investigation is ongoing. We urge anyone who saw what happened or has CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to get in touch immediately.”
