Three burglars locked up for 14 years after Europe-wide crackdown

Major cross-border bust brings crime gang to justice

An organised crime gang behind a string of burglaries has been smashed thanks to a massive international police effort. The team behind the daring raids across Avon and Somerset is now serving a combined 14 years and two months behind bars.

Police forces from UK to Romania join forces

The investigation saw detectives join forces with big hitters like the National Crime Agency, Interpol, Europol, the International Crime Coordination Centre, plus the Met Police, Police Scotland, and Romanian cops. Together, they hunted down the trio: Constantin Dragomir, George Ioan, and Claudiu Popa.

Convicted at Bristol Crown – sentences finally handed down

All three men were found guilty of conspiracy to burgle multiple homes across Avon and Somerset in a January 2020 plot. Dragomir, the last to face the judge at Bristol Crown Court on Monday 3 July, copped five years and eight months. Ioan and Popa had earlier picked up sentences of three years and 10 months, and six years respectively.
