Channel 4 Unveils Gripping London Bridge Terror Doc
Channel 4 has commissioned a hard-hitting new documentary, London Bridge: Facing Terror (working title), diving deep into the 2019 terror attack at Fishmongers’ Hall. Produced by Raw, the film shines a light on the brave actions of Darryn Frost, Steven Gallant, and John Crilly, three men who stepped up to stop the attacker during the nightmare on November 29, 2019.
Convicted Killers or Unsung Heroes?
The documentary doesn’t shy away from controversy. It explores how Steven and John’s criminal pasts — including previous convictions for murder — complicate their status as heroes. For the first time, the trio tell their own gripping account of the attack and reveal what brought them to Fishmongers’ Hall that fateful night.
Justice, Redemption, and Rehabilitation Under the Spotlight
Beyond the tense moments of the attack, London Bridge: Facing Terror tackles big questions about Britain’s justice system:
- Can prison truly reform dangerous offenders?
- Should society accept convicted criminals as heroes?
- Where’s the line between punishment and redemption?
The film holds a mirror up to the justice system, challenging viewers to rethink what justice and rehabilitation really mean.
Commissioned by Channel 4, Crafted with Care
Commissioned by Channel 4’s documentaries editor Sacha Mirzoeff and produced by Raw, with Liesel Evans as executive producer and Fred Scott directing, the film treats its subjects with respect and sensitivity. Mirzoeff said the testimonies from John, Steve, and Darryn “raise uncomfortable but necessary questions about justice and redemption.” Evans praised their bravery and openness throughout filming.
London Bridge: Facing Terror promises to be a powerful, eye-opening glimpse into a tragic day — and the complex human stories behind headlines. It’s set to spark urgent conversations about crime, punishment, and whether true redemption is ever possible.
